Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 7 is over $90 off at Amazon

01/10/2025

Plus, we found great deals on Eufy’s E28 robot vacuum and games from Steam’s autumn sale. Oct 1, 2025, 3:35 PM UTCBrandt Ranj is a commerce reporter for The Verge writing about the best deals and gadgets. He previously wrote for Business Insider, Rolling Stone, Futurism, and Popular Science.Few gadgets are as personal as a smartwatch, which you literally wear on your wrist all day (and potentially while you sleep). Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 7 is one of the best Android smartwatches we’ve tested, and you can pick up a 40mm Bluetooth model for $158.99 ($90 off) at Amazon. Verge Senior Reviewer Victoria Song found a lot to like about the Galaxy Watch 7 during her tests, including its comfortable design and the overall snappiness of its chip. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 comes in two sizes: 40mm and 44mm. It comes with new features like FDA-cleared sleep detection features as well as irregular heart rate notifications.Read MoreIts circular shape will please you if you’re coming from a traditional watch, or aren’t a fan of the squircle design Samsung decided on for the Galaxy Watch 8. We found its battery lasted about a day, which is okay, but be prepared to charge your smartwatch every night. The Galaxy Watch 7’s sensors can record the typical litany of health and wellness metrics, from the number of steps you’ve taken to your sleep and heart rate. The Galaxy Watch 7 has an FDA-cleared sleep apnea feature, but it relies on Samsung Health Monitor app, which is exclusive to Samsung’s smartphones. The Galaxy Watch 7 supports two AI-powered wellness features called Energy Score and Wellness Tips. Both take information collected about your activity and sleep to offer advice about tweaks you may want to make to your routine to help hit your goals. You can also use the smartwatch to compare how well you did on your exercises today compared to yesterday to encourage you to hit a new personal best.In our tests, these features were hit or miss. Our Energy Score fell dramatically after a long run, and bounced back after nine hours of sleep, but recommended we stop drinking alcohol or eating late at night despite not doing either of those things. We received Wellness Tips informing us we were and were not sticking to our sleep schedule on the same day.All that said, we found the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 to be a solid Android smartwatch based on its design and overall performance. It’s a solid upgrade over previous generations, and even more competitive with other Android smartwatches if you have a Galaxy smartphone and can take advantage of its sleep apnea detection.Three more great deals

  • Steam’s autumn sale is live, so you can fill up your backlog even further without breaking the bank. Blue Prince is one of the best games we played in 2025, and it’s $22.49 ($7.50 off). You can grab Hades for $6.24 ($18.71 off) if you want to play the first game before hopping into the sequel. I’m a massive fan of role playing games, and highly recommend picking up Octopath Traveler while it’s $23.99 ($36 off) if it slipped through the cracks. The Chrono Trigger-inspired Sea of Stars is another one of my favorites, and it’s down to $22.74 ($12.25 off) right now.
  • If you prefer physical books to digital ones, you know how frustrating it is to strain your eyes reading in a dark room. Glocusent’s USB Rechargeable Book Light can solve that problem and it’s on sale for $10.98 ($5 off) at Amazon. The light clips onto the cover of your book, and its articulating pieces let you change its angle to illuminate one or two pages. The light has five brightness levels and three reading modes, which adjusts the color temperature of its bulb. Glocusent says its book light lasts up to 80 hours per charge depending on your preferred brightness setting.
  • Let’s face it: Nobody likes spending time cleaning their floors. Eufy’s Robot Vacuum E28 can handle that chore for you, and the robot vacuum and mop combo is back down to $799.99 ($600 off) its lowest price ever at Amazon and from Anker with promo code WS24T2352111. The E28 is a premium robot vacuum with AI sensors that can detect specific types of messes to decide the best way to clean and navigate through your room. Eufy says it can detect hundreds of obstacles to figure out how to avoid them. A detachable carpet cleaner built into the robot vacuum’s base can help you get tougher stains out.

3 ways I make NotebookLM my personal sidekick

NotebookLM is marketed as a research and notes companion, but honestly, I don’t quite use it the way Google had intended. The “official” pitch is that you upload documents, and it helps you pull insights and keep track of sources. This is undoubtedly useful for things like academic work, but it can also get boring if that’s all you use it for. Source: xda-developers.com … [Read More...]

I didn't know the Obsidian Reminder plugin existed, but it's exactly what I needed

I run my entire life out of my Obsidian vault, but until now, something has been missing. I've tried multiple to-do apps, but none of those really checked all the boxes — and then I stumbled across the Obsidian Reminder plugin. This small, simple plugin has become an essential part of my workflow. I already struggle to remember things — if it isn't written down, it doesn't exist — but with a … [Read More...]

Opera is bringing a huge wave of free AI tools to its browsers

A few days ago, Opera broke the news that my favorite AI browser was getting a general release. It was fantastic news for me, because when I gave their test build out and used it to remake the classic game of Snake, I had a blast experimenting with all the different things I could ask it to do. All the quotes from Borderlands 4 CEO about the game that missed the mark

For a lot of years now, Randy Pitchford, the CEO of Gearbox Entertainment, has been one of the more... interesting personalities in the gaming space. The man certainly has a flair for dramatics, an unfiltered way of talking, and a knack for making headlines for the strangest reasons. Source: xda-developers.com … [Read More...]

4 cheap PC parts I’ll never buy again

Building a PC is an exciting rite of passage for any tech enthusiast. There's an overwhelming breadth of options available at every budget. However, this low barrier to entry is a double-edged sword. It’s incredibly tempting for a novice or first-time PC builder to look at a compatibility list and pair an upper-mid tier CPU and gaming GPU with an affordable $80 motherboard. I've been tempted too, … [Read More...]

I replaced WSL with a full Linux VM, and here’s why it's actually better

Windows Subsystem for Linux, or WSL, has been an incredibly welcome addition to Windows for those who enjoy developing and tinkering with Linux distributions. The lightweight, easy-to-setup nature of these instances is perfect for anyone looking to run Linux tools without needing to leave their primary OS. Once I started to use non-native packages and stepped outside of basic command-line tasks, I … [Read More...]

RGB is secretly the worst bloatware on your PC

If your PC features a lot of RGB lighting, chances are you've got software to manage it. While proprietary RGB software will give you complete control over your lighting, most RGB control software consumes hardware resources to run on a consistent basis. This is especially true of most OEMs' proprietary RGB management software, like Asus Armoury Crate, MSI Center, or Razer Synapse. Source: … [Read More...]

This cute open-source notes app killed Google Keep for me

Google Keep has been my go-to for jotting down quick ideas and making lists. It’s minimal, dead easy to navigate, and also just a tap away on my phone. I love it for its simplicity which allows me to quickly dump half-formed notes. But over time, I started to hit a ceiling. My notes became a messy scroll of colorful squares without folders or real structure. I also wasn’t a fan of my notes being … [Read More...]

The best smart rings for 2025

It’s getting increasingly difficult to say smart rings are just a niche inside the broader world of wearable technology. The raft of celebrities who are seen wearing them, the NBA’s use of Oura rings as an early warning system against COVID-19 and, last year, Samsung’s entry into the market has made them far more prominent in the minds of mainstream consumers. We’ve tested plenty of smart … [Read More...]
