Are you interested in learning how to code, If you’re interested in learning to code but don’t know where to start Don’t worry, you’re not alone. The world of Code is puzzling by definition, but with the right mindset and resources it can be a fulfilling and rewarding experience. By making a mindset that whether you are interested in web development, android development, or flutter. I will tell you a described roadmap about steps to start the coding journey with some tips for becoming a good Developer.First of all, it’s good to have a personal laptop or computer, but it’s not mandatory to have a personal laptop or computer. You can learn to code on your smartphone. Sometimes it may not be as convenient as using a laptop or computer. Many mobile apps and online resources are useful to learn to program on mobile. Here some popular examples include Great Learning, Curious.Jr, Mimo, SoloLearn, and many more. Those apps help you to learn coding in a fun & interesting way.
If you learning to program on a smartphone may not be as convenient as using a laptop or computer, but it is possible to learn and make progress using the above resources.
Step 1: Identify your goals & motivation
Before entering into coding, take some time to reflect on why you want to learn, how to code, and what you hope to achieve. Are you looking to switch careers, build your app or website, or simply gain a new skill? Understanding your goals & motivations can help you stay focused and motivated throughout the learning process.
Step 2: Choose your language
This is the main step in your coding journey to choose a perfect programming language. There are a lot of programming languages to choose but every language has there own systems. Some popular programming languages are C, C++, Python, and Java. If you are confused about choosing the best language for you(Beginner), I recommended you to start your coding journey with C language, as it is simple and easy to learn. If you learn C language completely it is to learn most of the programming languages easily. For Web Development I suggest you to learn HTML/CSS/JavaScript or Swift, Flutter, React Native for iOS or Java, and Kotlin for Android. If you have chosen your language it’s time to start learning.
Step 3: Get the perfect tools
If you are puzzled about which tool is good for coding, then I will suggest you the best Integrated Development Environment (IDE) to write the codes. Visual Studio Code is a popular IDE, but you can download coding Text Editor for specific languages like Visual Studio Code for C or PyCharm for python, Xcode for Swift, or Android Studio for Java.
I’ll suggest you Visual Studio Code (VS Code) because it is a lightweight code editor, which means it’s fast and responsive. It has a huge marketplace of extensions that can be installed to extend its functionality and customize the editor. VS Code is a powerful and versatile code editor that’s suitable for a wide range of programming languages and development tasks.
There are also several extensions available for VS Code that can help with compiling code, such as the C/C++ extension, which provides support for compiling C and C++ code with popular compilers such as GCC and Clang.
Step 4: understand the basics of programming
Before diving into a specific programming language, it’s important to understand the basic principles of programming, such as data types, control structures (e.g., loops, conditional statements), functions, and arrays. You can find many resources online that cover these concepts, such as tutorials, online courses, and textbooks.
There are many types of free content available on Youtube. Some of are
English: freeCodeCamp, The Ninja Net, Programming With Mosh, The New Boston
Hindi: Apna College, CodeWithHarry, MySirG
Step 5: Set goals and practice:
Set realistic goals for yourself, and practice coding every day. Start with small projects and gradually work your way up to more complex ones. Practicing coding challenges, such as HackRank, LeetCode and W3Schools, and participating in coding competitions can help you sharpen your skills.
Step 6: Join a coding community:
Joining a coding community can provide you with support, resources, and feedback. Communities like GitHub, Stack Overflow, and Reddit have active communities of coders who can help you troubleshoot issues and share resources., also participate in online hackathons. Joining a programming community can also help you stay motivated as you continue your coding journey.
Step 7: Advanced level coding
coding becomes more specialized and focused on specific areas of expertise. For example, you may specialize in web development, mobile app development, machine learning, data science, or game development. Advanced level coding requires a deep understanding of the underlying programming languages and frameworks used in your field of specialization, as well as a solid understanding of computer science concepts like algorithms and data structures. You may also need to be familiar with more advanced tools and technologies like cloud computing, virtualization, and containerization.
Extra Tips:
Build a portfolio: Building a portfolio of your coding projects can help you showcase your skills and land future opportunities. Display your projects on a personal website, GitHub, or LinkedIn.
Open-source projects: Contributing to open-source projects can give you real-world coding experience and help you develop collaboration and teamwork skills.
Networking and mentorship: Connecting with other coders and seeking mentorship from experienced developers can provide valuable guidance and advice, as well as potential job opportunities in the future.
Personal projects: Working on personal coding projects can help you apply your skills and build a portfolio to showcase your abilities to potential employers or clients.
Starting your coding journey can be a challenging yet rewarding experience. Remember to be patient with yourself, practice consistently, and stay motivated. Good luck!
