The Department of Justice has confirmed a coordinated international takedown of the Sality botnet, a peer-to-peer malware network that has plagued victims worldwide since 2003. The operation spanned the United States, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania, bringing together federal law enforcement and private-sector cybersecurity firms to dismantle infrastructure that had quietly powered cryptocurrency theft and cyberattacks for more than two decades.
